Beginning at the End
Our journey heads south towards the rivers source

Jacksonville -- This city sits at the end of the 310-mile journey made by the St. Johns River before spilling into the Atlantic. It marks the beginning of our journey to the source of the river. We start our journey with Jim Maher, a Florida Department of Environmental Protection scientist searching for what's fouling a municipal creek draining into the St. Johns. We're in search of something perhaps as elusive: hope.
